NCAA CWS Day 1 Preview

3pm-Oregon St. vs Cal St. Fullerton (ESPN) announcers-Tom Hart, Ben McDonald, Chris Burke and Mike Rooney field level

Cal St. Fullerton-They are the heavy underdogs heading into this game, they are lead by their OF with CF Scott Hurst being their leader, he hit .332 with 12 HR and 39 RBI, with help from Chris Hudgins who hit .242 with 3 HR and 31 RBI and their best pitcher is Connor Seabold who finished the season 11-5, also expect to see John Gavin start and he is 8-2, Brett Conine is their closer with 15 saves.

Oregon St.-They are not a high scoring team, the reason they are number 1 is their pitching, lead by 14-0 Jake Thompson and 5-2 Bryce Fehmel thats their bread and butter, their offense is lead by DH Trevor Larnach who hit .304 with 4 HR and 42 RBI with help from 2B Nick Madrigal who hit .383 with 4 HR and 36 RBI. The Beavers do not really have a closer as Jake Mullholland has 6 saves and Max Engelbrekt has 5 saves.

Analysis- Oregon St. does not have the offense to score runs, they can score when needed but, their pitching will have the lead them to victory, while CS Fullerton also does not score many runs (334) but, they gave up just 234 runs a game so I expect a low scoring game here with whoever plays smart wins.

Prediction-Jake Thompson pitches a great game and Oregon St. gets a decent but, not easy 3-1 win.

8pm-Florida St. vs LSU (ESPN) announcers-Karl Ravech, Kyle Petersen, Eduardo Perez with Laura Rutledge field level.

FSU- The Noles are lead by DH Quincy Nieport who hit .305 with 10 HR and 78 RBI and 3B Dylan Busby who hit .315 with 14 HR and 62 RBI.On the rubber they are lead by Tyler Holton who went 10-2 with help from Cole Sands and Drew Parrish who both went  6-3.Drew Carlton is their closer with 6 saves

LSU-They are lead by 3 players in RF Greg Deichmann who hit .320 with 19 hr and 72 RBI, LF Antoine Duplantis who hit .322 with just 1 hr but, had 57 RBI and both Kramer Robertson or Josh Smith can help out as they both have 43 RBI as well, their offense is loaded.on the mound they have 3 pitchers that can lead them, Jared Poche is 10-3. Eric Walker is 8-1 and Alex Lange is 9-5. Hunter Newman is their closer with 10 saves.

Analysis- Both of these teams can score runs with FSU scoring 488 and LSU scoring 456, both are even, for example FSU is 35-3 leading after 6 while LSU is 41-3 after 6, this is an even game, I see this being an offensive game but, close and even.

Prediction-This is a toss up but, I will take LSU and their experience for a 4-3 win.
